Police Clearance
A Police Clearance Certificate Must Be Original
DIRCO requires an original Police Clearance Certificate for direct legalisation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I apostille a copy of my Police Clearance Certificate?
DIRCO says certified copies of Police Clearance Certificates are not accepted.
Why does the original matter?
DIRCO's legalisation process verifies the official document and its issuing signature and stamp.
What if my original certificate is damaged?
Check with SAPS and DIRCO before submission rather than assuming a copy will be accepted.
